Description
This multi-award winning tower tour is one of the best things to do in Chester. You’ll climb right to the top of our central tower and see one city, two countries and five counties. At over 125 feet above ground, you really will get Chester’s best views.

As you climb the spiral staircase used by the monks who once lived here, you’ll discover hidden spaces, including high galleries and our Victorian bell chamber. Our trained guide will tell you tales from over 900 years of history. You’ll learn of a King’s escape and hear about Hugh the Wolf, the formidable Norman Earl who founded this building.

There are two versions of the tour for you to choose from
  • The 1 hour tour you get you the full Monty – views from the top, loads of history and the best bits inside, including a view of almost the full length of the cathedral.
  • The half-hour tour will give you the same views from the top, combined with a potted history and high points inside
Whichever one you go for, we guarantee it’s one of the best Chester tours. Why stay on the ground when you can go up high?
